A strong personality in a time of change

Finding a good chief financial officer is critical to the success of any organisation. In these times of changes we feel confident that Lilia Bergendorf will not only see the risks and opportunities behind the numbers, but also decide on future strategies through implementation and structuring the Group’s finances. 

Lilia has had a long career in finance, she leaves a position as Head of Group Business Planning & Analysis at ICA Gruppen where she has been responsible for long term strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting as well as investment process/analysis. Being accustomed to financial reporting to top management and to the board, she is no stranger to the inner workings of a group like ours. She also has tremendous experience in setting up internal control frameworks, along with experience from working with various IT implementations reads like a who’s who, which is why we believe she will easily interact with our own formidable IT-department.

Lilia has the desire to get up close and personal with the core business. To quote Lilia herself:

“I don’t believe a CFO should be someone who sits and hides behind a desk and just looks at numbers. If I can’t get close to every aspect of a business, how am I to give input on how we should optimise daily operations? I don’t mind being the one who asks the hard or even the obvious questions. I can be very direct, but that is only because I believe we should not waste each other’s time. Gain insight, lay out a strategy and act fast. We learn by doing.”

Being a very hands-on type of person, Lilia’s strong personality and knowledge will surely be an asset to the Executive Management team and to all companies within Nordward.
